'FIFTY Leyland Titans, 20 Leopards I and five Atlanteans have been ordered by Ribble Motor Services, Ltd. W. C. Standerwick, Ltd., have ordered 15 Leopards. Newcastle upon Tyne Corporation are buying 25 Arlanteans, and the Potteries Motor Traction Co., Ltd., 15 of this type.
Leyland Motors, Ltd., have received home orders for passenger vehicles to the value of more than £500,000 during the past five weeks. Two-thirds of the units involved are double-deckers, many of the Atlantean type.
A £90,000 export order has been received from Commercial Industrial 1Floliviana, S.A., Bolivia. It is for 33 goods vehicles to carry tin from mines to the port of Arica, Chile.
RECORD OUTPUT IN MARCH
PRODUCTION of commercial Vehicles in March was a record at 46,374 units, whilst exports were maintained at the high level at which they have been running for several months.
Overseas shipments during the first quarter of this year totalled 38,098 corn pared with 30,689 in the same period of 1959. Australia stayed as the biggest customer, taking 4,528 vehicles, with Denmark, having purchased 1,933, in second place. Details appear in the accompanying tables.
