MR. G. M. NEWBERRY succeeds MR. J. PICKERING as chairman of the Humberside section of the Institute of Transport.
MR, ERIC HOLLIS is now in charge of the Cowley depot of the Car Collection Co., Ltd. MR. JOHN HOLLOWAY will be responsible for the Sheldon depot.
MR. K. JONES has joined Sheepbridge Stokes, Ltd., as sales promotion executive to assist in the marketing of a new range of chromium-plated cylinder liners. He was formerly with the Laystall Engineering Co., Ltd.
MR. R. J. BUNN, of the materials handling division of the Metal Box Co., Ltd., has won the John Morris Memorial Award offered by the British Industrial Truck Association. The award covers a two-week visit to the annual material handling course at Lake Placid, New York.
MR. HERBERT H. CROW last week succeeded MR. R. N. INGRAM as national chairman of the Road Haulage Association. MR. J. T. TURNER was elected to fill the vacancy fora vice-chlirman. MR. J. B. MITCHELL, MR. D. 0. GOOD and MR. N. T. O'REILLY were re-elected vicechairmen.
MR. G. K. NEwmoi, :of the International Electrical Association, has been appointed chief executive officer of the Road Haulage Association, and will take up his duties in August. He is a barrister. He is at present abroad and Will not be returning to England until next month.
LORD MERRIVALE OF WALKHAMPTON
has been elected president of the Institute of Traffic Administration for 1960-61. MR, W. LINDLEY (Frames Tours, Ltd.) is chairman of the national council and MR. K. J. P. BOWYER (Bowyer Plant Hire and Transport. Ltd.) and MR. W. DALE (Reed Transport, Ltd.) are vice-chairmen. MR. A. T. Hats (Shell-Mcx and B.P., Ltd.) becomes a vice-president on retirement from the national chair.

MR. P. G. JAMES, chief financial officer of the London Transport Executive, has been appointed chief accountant of the British Transport Commission.
At.D. RALPH WILLIAMS, a member of the Rochdale Passenger Transport Committee since 1950, has been unanimously
elected mayor of the county borough of Rochdale.
MR. H. R. BARBER (Pressed Steel Co., Ltd.) has been elected president of the Institute of Body Engineers. MR. W. J. BELGROVE and MR. A. Cox (Ford Motor Co., Ltd.) are vice-presidents. MR. K. A. OSBORNE (Pressed Steel Co., Ltd.) is honorary treasurer.

MR. N. S. STEEN has become manager of the Edinburgh branch of Bowmaker, Ltd. MR. J. E. Bovro, previously manager at Hull, becomes manager at Birmingham and is replaced by MR. F. 0. WADDINGTON. MR. L. A. MOORE, formerly Birmingham branch manager, has been appointed Birmingham area manager.
OBITUARY
WE regret to report the death of MR. VV L. E. RICHARDS, director and general manager of the Eastern National Omnibus Co.. Ltd.
Mr. Richards died suddenly last Friday.
