Now We Know What to Do

YOUR leading article "If—Not When," of May 13, was indeed a masterpiece. Do you really suggest that any future Labour government would listen to proposals from the Road Haulage Association—the very people who are destroying British Road Services?

B.R.S. were built up into the finest road haulage system this country has ever seen, and this despite the efforts of the R.H.A. and The Commercial Motor to prevent this.

One has only to read through the lists of disposals to form a very good picture of what the future holds for the small man. I would say to members of the R.H.A.: "Follow Mr. James Barrie, annihilate B.R.S. and soon the haulage industry would again be the jungle it was before the coming of B.R.S." Instead of this, I would suggest that they follow Mr. John Barber, cry halt to the present sales and extend the hand of friendship to B.R.S. The industry could then face the future with confidence.

Mr. Barrie and his supporters can bring about only complete renationalization whenever Labour is returned to power.

Blaenavon, Mon. HUBERT MORGAN.
