Chloride Profits Leap: The Chloride Electrical Storage Co. Ltd. group profit before taxation for 1963 was 43,532,130 (E3,043,316 in the previous year). The improvement arose mainly from overseas battery companies trading and from U.K. non-battery trading. United Kingdom and other tax paid on the group profit amounted to Diphiata for Perkins: Moteurs Perkins S.A., the Perkins Group's French company, has beeri presented with the diploma " Prestige de la France " for special. services rendered to French industry. The Perkins company is the first engine manufacturer to receive the diploma, the presentation coinciding with the French company's tenth anniversary and the production of the 150,000th Perkins diesel engine in France.
G.W. Aluminium Expands: The new premises of G.W. Aluminium Co. Ltd. at Worsley, Lanes, were inaugurated this month. G.W. Aluminium is one of British Aluminium's group of approved stockists. The new building, specially designed for storage and rapid handling of aluminium sheet, plate, extrusions and tube, will make possible improved services to customers in the engineering, commercial vehicle and other industries within a regular delivery radius of 50 miles around Manchester. The stock is rapidly being enlarged, particularly in the commercial vehicle field. Loading and movement of materials is by three electrically-controlled 15-cwt cranes on overhead parallel runways serving a floor area of about 10.090 sq. ft., . and by a batteryoperated Stacatruc with a Capacity of 1,500 lb.
