Municipal Lorries Required.

It is reported that the Schaerbeek (Belgium) Municipal Sanitation Services are inviting tenders, which have to be presented by March 28th, for the supply of three motor lorries of from 2-3-tons capacity. The vehicles must be designed so that they can deal not only with municipal refuse but be able to transport such loads as coal, wood and other materials. A New Fuel-measuring Plant.

-We have received from the Dowson and Mason Gas Plant Co., Ltd., Levenshulme,.. Manchester, a pamphlet which describes and illustrates the Hawke visible petrol measure. We understand that a number of these equipments has been Ina-tailed in Australia with complete success, and the pump is now being introduced to the British market. It has, we are fold, been approved by the Standards Department of the Board of Trade.

The measure consists essentially of a large double-acting, hand-operated pump which draws petrol from an underground tank and discharges it into a glass container of five or six gallons

capacity. The hand-pump is of the two-cylinder piston type, and the plungers are :operated by cut-steel racks engaging a large gearwheel bonnected to the hand-lever.

Platform Trucks for the G.W.R. The Great Western Railway Co. has lately Placed an order with R. A. Lister . and Co., Ltd., Dursley, for the supply of six petrol-driven platform trucks for use at the goods station at Temple Meads, Bristol.
