has bought 10 Iveco Stralis tractor units as part of a £1.2m fleet investment.
The units, five Hi-Road and five Hi-Way, are part of a deal to bring 40 Iveco trucks into the fleet (CM 14 February), MD Paul Robinson said Alltruck, which has 1,800 vehicles, is the first rental company in the UK to offer the 2013 International Truck of the Year. "We have trialled previous generations of the Stralis and found them to be a decent vehicle operationally," he said.
"Driver environment is an important consideration for us and in the new Iveco Stralis we were also impressed by the enhanced real-time driver feedback, which empowers drivers to optimise their performance."
The rest of the deal is made up of Eurocargo 7.5-tonne trucks. Robinson said the company has reduced its 7.5-tonne fleet. "The market is still significant enough to warrant investment. We are also increasing the size of our mid-weight rigid vehicles (10-tonne to 13-tonne GVWs) to give customers more choice," he added.
