Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Plant Services in Wolverhampton, is perfectly happy with AdBlue. He says: "We have two Daf CF75 rigids and two Volvo FH13 tractors on AdBlue, and we've had no problems." The firm buys AdBlue direct from Greenox. "We get through a 1,000-litre IBC every three months," Nott continues. "We fill up the Volvos once a week using an electric pump. The drivers wear gauntlets and face shields when they are putting it in, just as you would with any chemical substance. We haven't noticed that it has encroached significantly on our costs — we are getting good fuel consumption from the Volvos and the Dafs."

Antony Fensom, fleet manager of Leeds Commercial Vehicle Hire, has had a more mixed experience. "We run a fleet that is now predominantly Euro-5 but have ordered two of the first Euro-6 Mercedes Arocs. Having run both SCR and EGR, we have had some trouble with both in varying degrees," he explains. "We still have a large number of Euro-5 Dafs with AdBlue and we have very few issues with them — with the exception of hire customers putting the wrong product in the wrong tank, diesel in the AdBlue being the most common and, sometimes expensive, mistake."

Richard Catley, group fleet engineer of Downton, says: "We have taken on SCRequipped vehicles from the word go. There were issues, particularly with dosing units, but with anything new, there will always be issues to overcome. The manufacturers were very supportive.

"There were people who wanted to avoid it," Catley adds, but "with the advent of Euro-6 SCR is here to stay".
