generation of their Unijet turbo diesel (JTD) engines. Launched in 2007, the 1.6-litre Multijet uses Bosch's common-rail fuel-injection system, and is capable of managing up to five consecutive injections in the combustion cycle. It meets Euro-5 emission regulations through the use of a diesel particulate filter. The turbocharged engine develops 103hp (77kW) at 4,000rpm and 290Nm of torque from 1,500rpm and is also available elsewhere in the Fiat family as a 118hp unit. The official emission and fuel consumption figures for the Doblo XL with auto start/stop (as tested here) are 150g/ km of CO2 and a combined fuel consumption of 49.6mpg. Corresponding figures without the stop/start system are 158g/km and 47.1mpg. Servicing is recommended every 21,000 miles.
