Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• HGV drivers who stop at the Chieveiey services on the M4 near Newbury are using car pumps to avoid queuing for diesel because of a faulty HGV fuel pump.

Commercial Motor's roadtest team, which regularly uses the site, has twice been caught up in hold-ups there over the past three weeks.

Last week artic drivers were uncoupling their trailers so they could squeeze their tractors alongside car pumps. Some said they had even phoned before arriving to check the NOV pumps were working.

A spokeswoman for Moto, Chieveiey's operator, confirms that one of the three HGV pumps is faulty. "We have reported it and are waiting for the necessary part to arrive," she says. "Obviously we apologise for the inconvenience caused."
