Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DESPITE the present depressed economy, Cambridgeshire vehicle builder Tidd Strongbox Limited expects to produce over 500 dryfreight bodies from Glasonit this year.

The reason for this, says Tidd, is the increased acceptance by vehicle operators of the benefits offered by the durable composite panel, which is produced by Technical Panel Industries Ltd, of Haverhill in Suffolk.

Glasonit is recommended by Tidds for its smooth external finish which provides a suitable surface for the application of signwriting or decals.

The smooth interior is said to eliminate dirt-harbouring crevices and makes vehicle bodies easier to clean. The absence of internal framing allows operators to obtain greater internal width within the statutory limits, it is claimed.

Tidds also highlight the resistance to impact and the ease of repair should damage occur.

The Strongbox concept depends on Glasonit to provide the beam strength of the chassisless trailer. Tidds have standardised on a plywood core panel coated with polyester resin and heavily reinforced with woven raving because of its inherent strength and consistency.
