MR. FRANK F. FOWLER has been appointed chairman of the tipping vehicles group of the Road Haulage Association; MR. H. E. BROWN and MR. D. DERHAM are vice-chairmen. Representatives on the R.H.A. national council are MR. J. H. FiSHER and MR. D. CARMICHAEL.

MR. F. A. PLUMMIER, Chief Certifying Officer for motor vehicles in Jamaica, has arrived in this country to study road transport. This week he called to see us and showed a keen interest in operating conditions in this country. He pointed out that in Jamaica every type of motor vehicle has to be examined and certified before the owner is pennitted to take out a licence, but the total number of vehicles there is only about 6,000. He is a guest of the British Government.
