very special parade of buses through the centre of London to celebrate 50 years of the RT bus, one of the most successful bus designs ever built.
More than 7,000 RTs operated in the London Buses' fleet between August 1939 and April 1979 will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the RT's introduction. RT/ RF Register has combined with the London Transport Museum to organise the parade from Covent Garden and Finsbury Square. It is hoped that up to 62 RT buses will participate in the event. Members of the public will be given the opportunity to ride in the buses.
