• A case involving a series of drivers' hours and tachograph allegations against Kirkcroft Skips, of Thorpe Healey, its transport manager and one of the company's drivers, has been adjourned for trial by Rotherham Magistrates after the allegations were denied.
Driver David Deveaux, of Catcliffe, Rotherham, pleaded not guilty to five offences of exceeding 41/2 hours driving without taking the required amount of break, three offences of taking insufficient weekly rest, and eight offences of failing to return tachograph charts to his employer within 21 days.
The company and transport manager David Cutts each pleaded not guilty to permitting Deveaux to exceed 41/2 hours driving without the required break, failing to ensure that he took sufficient weekly rest, and failing to ensure that he returned his tachograph charts within 21 days.
The trial date is August.
