• Drivers and conductors at London Buses have accepted the company's pay offer. The package is worth about 8.8%, according to LB, but is valued by the Transport and General Workers Union at 9.1%. London Buses says no talks are scheduled with the engineering maintenance workers who rejected a similar offer and voted for fortnightly strikes.
London Buses made a loss of £102.5 million last year on turnover of E317.6 million. However, according to parent London Regional Transport, LB achieved a 20% cost reduction between 1984/85 and 1988/89.
