• Recently placed in service in the Netherlands, this mobile "Heliport" based on a DAF 4x4 chassis provides all support facilities necessary to allow helicopters to operate when away from their fixed base. The vehicle, on a shortwheelbase Daf FAV 1800 DT all-wheel-drive chassis for off-road use. It carries 2,700 litres of aviation fuel with refuelling equipment and fire-fighting gear. KUM has introduced the new unit to allow more intensive charter use to be made of its helicopter fleet to compensate for the reduction in service flights to and from offshore oil platforms.
