Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ALMOST HALF the operator licence applications in East Anglia are being rejected first time round because the local advertisements, introduced as a legal requirement last year, arc worded wrongly.

Some advertisements are bizarre and absurd, others have important omissions, said Eastern Licensing Authority Ken Peter. "If they are not as prescribed, I must refuse the licence application without considering its merits," he warned last week.

There arc then three options for the operator. He can re-apply, which means starting all over again, appeal to the Transport Tribunal, or go out of business.

"It is well worthwhile to spend a few minutes making sure the advertisement is absolutely correct," he said. Guides are available.
