United Parcels' conventional drawbar vehicles carry two 7.3m (24ft) bodies. With this close-coupled system an 8.2m (27ft) body can be carried on the trailer, with a 7.3m body on the rigid. Dual twist lock positions on the longer body allow it to be carried on the rigid when it is uncoupled.
The trailer body is demounted using the raise/lower facility of the York Airpoise suspension. The Dal's drive axle is fitted with air suspension which also aids demounting though the front of the body is lifted with a standard Abel single bellows lift pack.
