Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NATIONAL safe driving competition is being launched in the autumn by Bandag Tyre, the retreading manufacturer.

The competition, called Drive for Safety, is open to any private or public sector road transport operator in Britain or Ireland which employs 10 or more permanent drivers. It will be divided into trunking/long haul, retail distribution/multi-drop, construction, and mixed operations.

Entrants should provide the organisers with details of reportable blameworthy accidents which involve their drivers this year. These will be assessed per kilometre driven and in comparison with other similar organisations.

According to Bandag, which is offering 114,000 worth of retail goods and £7,000 cash as prizes, the competition is being designed to foster a competitive safe driving atmosphere among participating companies' staff.

It will be up to each company to decide how its prize money is distributed.

A free award kit, with materials to help a company run its own safe driving scheme next year, is available with details of the competition from Drive for Safety, Smithfield House, Crescent Road, Luton, Bedfordshire LU2 OAH (phone: 0582 23662, 33483).
