E LIMITS have been imcl by the South-Eastern lsing Authority after trafarea boundary changes residents an opportunity nake representations ist the continued operaof SPD's Chesham, cinghamshire depot.
le company held a licence he Metropolitan Traffic , authorising operation Chesham since 1957, but last year's boundary changes compelled it to seek a licence in the South-Eastern area.
The application for 28 vehicles and 28 trailers drew representations from six residents of Atkeridge Road.
Patricia Turner said her daughter suffered from asthma, which was made worse when the wind blew fumes from the depot to their house.
She was also worried about letting her daughter out at times because of the danger caused by the regular reversing of lorries.
Depot manager Richard Bock said the company had 21 outfits at Chesham, mainly working on a contract with the American cereal giant, K elloggs.
All residents refuted Mr Bock's claims that noise levels and traffic flow had decreased since the company had moved From rigid vehicles to articulated vehicles.
In granting the application, South Eastern Licensing Authority Randall Thornton nevertheless banned SPD from running any of its vehicles through the lower entrance in Afkeridge Road between lOpm and 6am.
