A lorry carrying cans of oil and two trailers with jute bales were also lost.
Mr Towns said: "We are busy with clearing-up operations, redistributing the stuff we have managed to save. We have managed to acquire another warehouse at short notice."
Afterwards Mr Towns swore that never again would his company store raw jute. "The damage jute can cause to buildings in a fire is terrible," he said.
