THIS YEAR'S Fleet Management Conference, which takes place on October 24, has already attracted 520 delegates. The conference theme is Looking at the 80s and the speakers have been drawn from all quarters of the industry.
Three engineers will discuss vehicle development, a management consultant will make the case for management aids and the RHA chairman will examine the role of the owner-driver.
A TGWU officer will show how trade unions will adopt and develop a management role in the next ten years and a Eurocrat comes from Brussels to explain EEC law now and ten years hence.
The papers will be analysed and summarised by the chief executive of one of Britain's largest haulage companies.
Conference chairman is Sir Dan Pettit.
The conference which is confined to 600 delegates has been recognised once again by the Road Transport Industry Training Board as a grantearning exercise for those "in scope". A delegate's registration form appeared in CM last week (page 52).
