Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The hazards faced by Belfast Corporation busmen and passengers were highlighted last week when Mr William van Straubenzee, Minister of State for Northern Ireland, gave details of 93 incidents which occurred between June 4 and July 9 this year.

Nineteen buses had been hijacked, of which 10 were destroyed, eight severely damaged by fire and one recovered undamaged; 57 buses had been badly damaged by stoning and 11 had tuffered interior damage.

There had, said Mr van Straubenzee, been three armed robberies on buses, two inspectors had been kidnapped and later released, and one shooting incident had occurred.

As a result of these incidents, one passenger had been killed, eleven were injured and two bus crews assaulted.
