Truck registration volumes were relatively stable between 1998 and 2004, with an average annual volume of 54,077, a low of 51,791 and a high of 56,312. Registrations rose 1.3% to 56,312 for the year despite a 1.3% fall in December. Truck registrations over 15 tonnes fell by 0.9%, while those up to 15 tonnes rose 4.8%. During December heavy trucks were down 7.3%; light and medium trucks increased 14.7%.
