Service equipment manufacturer Beissbarth has developed an "in-situ" tyre-testing unit suitable for light CVs and cars that is capable of detecting internal casing damage.
A technician operates the unit using lasers and a camera to create digital images of the tyre surface.
These are computeranalysed and the results displayed on screen.
From here the tester can reveal concealed mechanical damage such as impact ruptures, cuts and fabric damage which cannot usually be detected by traditional means.
