Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by Steve Banner • Cummins will shortly unveil in the USA, an uprated compressed natural gas (CNG) powered version of the L10 engine producing 209kW (280hp).

The CNG L10 shortly to go into service with Lane Group in an ERF cranks out 1 79kW (240hp). Cummins recognises that more punch is needed, in line with the general swing among operators towards higher power outputs.

However, it will be some time before the 280hp unit is available to UK operators, says Cummins, as it will need to undergo intensive testing on the other side of the Atlantic. And, like the current unit, it will only be supplied as part of an experimental project.

Cummins is incorporating the ancillary piping and wiring required to convert the L10 to CNG into the block.

The Lane Group will be using its CNG ERF on a distribution contract with

The Body Shop, which is noted for its commitment to environmentally-friendly policies.
