Plaxton profits
PLAXTON'S coach-building division has reported an increase in profits in the 1977 report and accounts. Industrial problems have caused the company to put in cold storage its proposed bus body which was to have replaced the Plaxton Derwent.
Raising the roof
LACK of liaison between planners and operator has been blamed for escalating costs at Manchester's new prestige £42 million Arndale bus station and shopping centre. The main problem is caused by the ceiling height which has been found to have been built 3ft too low, causing lighting and ventilation problems.
