AThe recently published "Manual of Visual
Presentation in Education and Training" by Dr. E. A. Taylor (Pergamon Press, 10 gns.) appears at an appropriate time. Many training boards and training officers should find it most useful.
-The manual is designed in a loose-leaf
form and this facilitates the photo-copying of illustrative material, or the use of templates for model making.
Non-projected equipment such as chalkboards, charts, magnetic materials, flannel graphs, peg boards, models and model materials are fully described and there is much sense in the author's view that all training establishments should have a well-equipped visual presentation laboratory and store manned by a trained technician.
A section deals with still, moving, and overhead projection, and there are chapters dealing with copying and duplicating processes and ancillary tools, equipment and materials.
Also included are useful comparison tables for projector screen sizes and projection distances and photographs to assist the prospective purchaser in selecting suitable equipment, together with the addresses of equipment suppliers.
