THE threatened series of one-day strikes by company busmen is off—for the moment. Persistent union pressure on the employers for a pay offer in line with the municipal busmen's 9s. ld. award led the employers last week to offer 3f per cent payable from the beginning of March.
In the meantime a joint conirnittee under an independent chairman is to probe employers allegations of restrictive practices by busmen in certain areas.
The strike of 2.500 LTI3 supervisors last Friday over their "differential" grievance led to a meeting of the white collar unions with Mrs. Castle on Tuesday. The Minister has now authorized the urn to resume negotiations for
