Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A 16-TON hydro-couple low-loader has been added to the D. H. Morgan, Bordon, Hants, range of trailers.

Apart from a 4-ton advantage over earlier hydro-coupled units its new hinged headboard design opens the way to payloads of 25 tons or more. This facility—coupled with its one-man push-button operation—offers considerable time-saving advantages over rear-end loading trailers.

This new trailer can be coupled to any tractive unit equipped with standard SAFAMMT fifth-wheel type couplings. The four main members of the main frame front section are formed of Ain. boxed sections. The fifth-wheel plate incorporates 2, in. diameter high tensile steel kingpins. On the main frame the rear section consists of two 12 in. by 6 in. universal beam members and two 12 in. by 4 in. channel members.

Suspension is Rubery Owen R36/2A/1U. Balance beam linking springs. fitted with slipper ends. Axles are located by rubber-bushed radius

rods. The landing gear, raised and lowered by a control fitted on the side of the platform, is used conventionally to support the complete semitrailer when it is detached from the prime movers and it plays an important part when separating the two sections for front loading. Unladen weight is 6 tons.
