The Highway, organ of the Scottish Commercial Motor Men's Union, forecasts an early pay claim on behalf of road haulage workers. Increased night subsistence allowances, now 11, are also anticipated.
Mr. R. Clifford, managing director of R. Clifford Ltd., of Seaham, Co. Durham who took office as chairman for 1967 of the National Negotiating Committee this week, will soon, no doubt, be in the throes of pay claims and productivity deals.
