Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANOTHER 35 cx-British Road Services' lorries (151 tons 1 cwt.) and four trailers have been bought by Mr. J. Regan, Chun Farm, Horsmonden, Kent. A number of these has already been resold.

Hacketts Haulage, Ltd., 229 Cross Lane, &Ilford, 5, who also deal in ex-B.R.S. vehicles, have acquired another 34 lorries (105 tons 13 cwt.) based in London and Essex.

Among new purchasers are Messrs. J. Forshaw and Son, 16 King Street,

Westhoughton, Lanes, who have brought five lorries. There are many more assignments this week.

NORTHERN AREA

Five articulated outfits and a lorry (162 tans) have been taken over by Lintzgarth Transport Co., Ltd., Pardend, Ormesby, near Middlesbrough, in a repeat purchase.

Other hauliers who have added to their fleets of ex-British Road Services vehicles are: Mr. W. Storey, Portare, Ackworth, near Pontefract (two lorries-5 tons 11 cwt.); Gardner Bros. (Langley Moor), Ltd., Old Pit, Framwellgate Moor, Durham (one-7 tons 6 cwt.); Messrs. Smart and Cardella, (one-5 tons); and Baxters Road Services, Ltd., Ayton Warehouses. Pandon, Newcastle upon Tyne (an articulated outfit —3 tons 9 cwt.).

Lintzgarth Transport have also taken over two lorries (5 tons 4 cwt.) from Mr. E. Crabtree. County Garage, Trinity Lane, Ripon.

Mr. E. Waters, 84 St. Mary's Avenue, Monkseaton, has sold more vehicles, two (6 tons), going to Mr. J. R. Adams, Back Union Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. 6; one (2 tons 18 cwt.) to Wm. Brunskill and Son (Transport), Ltd., Central Garage, George Street, Bishop Auckland; one (22 tons) to Messrs. William Hamilton and Sons, 13 Cedric Crescent, Sunderland; one (18 cwt.) to Messrs. T. Watson and Son, Victory Garage, Bishop Auckland; and six (17 tons 12 cwt.) to MePhees (Newcastle), Ltd„ Ford Street Garage, City Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, 1. Mr. Waters has, in turn, taken over a lorry (4 tons) from Mr. T. McAloon, Witton Garage, Witton Gilbert.

Mr. E. W. Dougherty. 10 Cuba Street, Sunderland, has transferred a lorry (2 tons 18 cwt.) to Messrs. Dougherty Bros., of the same address; Mr. J. H. Lemon, Hill House, Arnside, Westmorland, one (2 tons 19 cwt.) to Pearson (Hauliers). Ltd., Brooklands, Peririth; Mr. E. A. Trippitt, Station Garage, Arnside, •Westmorland, one (3 tons) to Mr. J. W. A. Stamper, Brooklands, Penrith; and Messrs. Elliotts Transport Services, 24 Edward Street, Durham, one (2 tons 19 cwt.) to Messrs. Wise and Sample, 10 South Street, West Rainton, Fencehouses.

Messrs. Chambers and Holiday, Garden Street, Darlington, have exchanged a lorry (3 tons 13 cwt.) for one weighing 3 tons 4 cwt. with Mr. A. Kell, 203 Clifton Road, Darlington.

NORTH-WEST A first purchase involving five lorries (151 (ons) has been made by Messrs. J, Forshaw and Son, 16 King Street, Westhoughton.

J. and A. Smith of Maddiston, Ltd., Manuelrigg Garage, Maddiston by Falkirk, have acquired a lorry (8 tons) based at Bryn. near Wigan.

J. W. Ratcliffe and Sons, Ltd., Ashton1n-Makerfield, have transferred two lorries, one (31 tons) going to Mr. K. Johnson, 19 Stonecross Lane, Lowton, and one

(4 tons) to Messrs. T. and H. Singleton, 54 School Lane, Skelmersdale; W. G. W. Haulage Co., address not known, one

(4 tons) to Mr. R. H. Direct purchases have been made by Mr. R. G. Bassett, Grayswood, Tittensor, of a vehicle (3 tons); Messrs. Marshall's Transport, Manorside, High Street, Badsey, near Evesham, one (21 tons): Mr. R. E. G. Mason, 70 Pastures Hill, Littleover, Derbyshire, two (111 tons); Mr. G. Richardson, 100 Dudley Road East, Oldbury, two (82 tons); and Mr. A. Smith, 255 Lawley Street, Birmingham, 4, one (1 ton).

Mr. Smith has also taken over a lorry (3 tons) from Gee's Transport Services (Coven), Ltd., Coven Heath, near Wolverhampton, who have also transferred a lorry (3 tons) to Mr. W. S. Brown, Lynton, Wolseley Road, Rugeley.

Repeat purchases have also been made by A. D. Forsey (Transport), Ltd., Ricketts Lane Works, Worle, of two lorries (6 tons 4 cwt.), and Watchet Transport Co., Watchet, one (3 tons).

LONDON AND HOME COUNTIES

Hacketts Haulage, Ltd., 229 Cross Lane, Salford, 5, have acquired another 34 lorries and five trailers in this area. Thirty of the lorries (93 tons 4 cwt.) and the trailers are based in London, and the other four lorries (12 tons 9 cwt.) in Purfleet. Mr. P. Gleeson, 51 St. Augustines Road, London, N.W.1, has acquired a lorry (5 tons 3 cwt.), and Mr. H. G. Sweetland; 66 Drewstead Road, London, S.W.I6. one (2 tons 1 cwt.).

Mr. J. Regan,Chun Farm, Horsmonden, has been granted special A licences for another 35 lorries (151 tons 1 cwt.) and four trailers. A number of these has already been transferred, three (19 tons 13 cwt.) going to Mr. Si Anderson, Wilson Road Garage, Newhouse; one (3 tons 9 cwt.) to Messrs. Mr. L. Heatley (Thometts Depository), 79 Craven Park Road, London, N.W.10, has transferred eight lorries (19 tona 15 cwt.) to L, Heatley and Co., Ltd. (Thometts Depository), of the same address.

Thirteen lorries, (321 tons) taken over in earlier purchases by Mr. J. Wood, 4 Oakwood Avenue, London. N.I4, have now been transferred to S. Wood and Son. Ltd., 260-262 John Street, London. E.C.1.

Central Garage (Bathgate), Ltd., George Place, Bathgatc. Scotland. have transferred five lorries, based in London. Three (8 tons 19 cwt.) have gone to Road Services (Caledonian), Ltd., Leafield Road, Dumfries; one (3 tons) to Messrs. Smith and Evans, 7 Emma Terrace. London. E.11; and one (3 tons) to Mr. R. Ward, 31a Ravenscourt Road, London, W.6.
