Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ASMALL -fleet of A.E.C.Regal 28seater coaches is being supplied by the Arlington Motor Co., High Road, Ponders End, London, N., to Majestic Express Motors, Ltd., 5, Oxford Road, Manchester. The first of the vehicles was completed last week and we had an opportunity for inspecting it.

The body is a credit to its builders, Messrs. Melts and Son, of Longfield Avenue, Ealing, London, W., it having a most striking and handsome appearance. Much care has been given to the general lines of the vehicle. On the near side the body curves out in a graceful sweep from the bonnet, whilst, above the waist, the front bulkhead is considerably staggered. The waist of the front panel of the cab carves down from the top of the radiator and is met

by deep, domed belt rail, which extends to the off-side rear corner. On the near side the rail runs from the front bullhead to the rear corner ; thus, it will he seen that the back panel of the body is plain.

The windscreen is raked, the rear of the body being staggered in a reverse direction, and having a large light with a small curved window on each side.

The head is of the clerestory type and, on each side, a considerable portion of it is railed off for the carriage of luggage ; a roll-up fabric cover is provided for each baggage space.

The seating arrangementis a little unusual. On the off side there are five rows of double armchairs, whilst on the near side there are four banks. Over each rear wheel-arch is a single armchair, which is set at an angle to the sides of the body, the passenger normally being seated facing slightly to the front. Behind these chairs is a single double seat situated approxiinately equi-distant from the sides. Across the back panel is a bank of five seats. The 28th seat may be hooked on to the front off-side one.

All Chairs have head-rolls and particularly high backs, the rear of each being curved so that the maximum amount of kneeroom is provided.

The parcels reeks are made of wood covered with lining material, and are of substantial construction. Indirect lighting is employed, the bulbs being concealed behind -rectangular frosted glass, From the maintenance point of view the windows, which are of the Rawlings NS type, constitute a noteworthy feature. By the removal of four nuts, two in each pillar, the pane of glass may be detached. • The comfort of passengers has further been, catered for by the installation of a heating apparatus. The headroom is

• generous, the actual dimensions being 6 ft. 2 ins. The vehicle is to be run on a regular service from London to "Manchester, which the Majestic concern has, of course, maintained for some time.
