A COMPLETE LIST OF GREEN LINE COACH SERVICES

A Useful Record Prepared from the Latest Information A'the time of going to press we learn from Green Line Coaches, Ltd., 55, Broadway, London, S.W.1, that it is proposed to 'commence, probably to-morrow (January 28th), new coach services connecting London with Dartford and Farninghani, the two routes joining at Eltham. •

It would appear that a complete record of the Green Line coach services connecting London with towns on the outskirts of the Metropolis would, at this juncture, be of considerable value to motor-coach operators and others, particularly in view of the discussions that are now taking place on the subject of coaches being banned from the central London area. What effect the ultimate result of these discussions will have upon the Green Line services, amongst others, remains to be seen.

Above is reproduced a map of the Green Line services as they stood a few days ago, the proposed Dartford and Farnin, gham routes being marked by dotted lines. Of all the services shown, some extend right across London from north to south. Of these the halfhourly service connecting flitchin with Reigate is 55 miles in length, toeing the longest motorbus or motor-coach service operated by the London General Omnibus Co., Ltd., and its associated concern.

In the case of several of the services tickets entitle passengers to travel to and from any Underground Railway station within a given central area, changing at some convenient station in the suburbs. This through-ticket arrangement affords a facility to the

public which will prove most valuable in the event of a considerable restriction of the use of the central area by motor-coaches. By this it is not, meant to suggest that the puhlic is likely to find a transfer.. to and from the Underground Railway system convenient and suitable for its needs. • At the same ftiine, if severe restrictions in the use of central

London by coaches come into force, it has to be borne in mind that the Green Line will be placed somewhat at an advantage by reason of 'its association with the Underground Railway group of companies.

Below is reproduced a table giving some fundamental information concerning each of the services shown in the above map. It has to be borne in mind that changes are likely to be made at very short notice.
