Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Northamptonshire police are hunting a hit-and-run van driver who collided with a cyclist and drove off, leaving him injured.

The incident happened at around 3pm last Sunday (16 February). The 13-year-old boy was riding along Main Road in Far Cotton when he was knocked from his bike by a white Mercedes or Transit-type van.

A male passenger leant out of the vehicle and swore at the boy, before hitting him with a bat. He then took hold of the boy's clothing and pulled him towards the van. However, he managed to break free and run away. He sustained a ligament injury to his right shoulder.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire police says that the van had a side-opening sliding door with a beige

coloured carpet in the rear and no apparent number plate: "The male passenger is described as white, in his mid-thirties, 5ft, 6in to 5ft, Bin tall with long black hair.

"He wore a hat which was pulled down low to cover his forehead, leather gloves and a Berghaus navy blue fleece top. Anyone with information should call us."
