EMPLOYMENT SECRETA Norman Tebbit has increa the allowances available older employees who want take advantage of the GEM ment's job release scheme make their post available to unemployed.
From April 6, the allowance men aged 64 and women a, 59 will be increased from £5( to £55 a week, tax free for a n ried person with a depenc husband, or a wife whose income does not exceed £1 week. For all other applica the tax free rate goes up fl £40 to £43.50.
For men aged 62 or 63 disabled men aged 60 to 63, rate for those with a depenc wife earning up to £12 a ‘A rises from £59 to £64 a week fore tax, and for all others fi £47.50 to £52 taxable.
