Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IRISH coach operators want the Republic's next Government to remove value added tax and excise duty from imported coaches, in order to boost the tourist industry The country's Coach Tourism Council made this request in the lead up to last week's inconclusive general election, and said that Irish operators are corn pelled to pay 1R£21,000 (£16,300) more than their British counterparts.

It said that there should be reequipment and modernisation grants for coaches, fuel rebates for all tourist operations, free depreciation and corporation tax levels comparable with those for export industries, and low-cost, long-term finance.

Bombardier (Ireland) Ltd has already built over 50 coaches for Coras lompair Eireann, and has qualified for state support which is available to incoming industry.
