A CONTRACT with Perkins Engines to supply Volkswagen with diesel engines for a new utility vehicle is expected to be announced soon.

The engine blocks will be made initially at Motores Perkins in Madrid and shipped to the Hanomag factory at Hanover, recently acquired by MasseyFerguson, parent company of Perkins Engines at Peterborough. There they will be machined and assembled, using mainly British-made components.
