COMPLAINTS about the time being taken to reach a decision about the report on school transport were rejected by a Government spokesman in the Lords.
The last reply from the organizations which had been consulted had arrived only last month, said Lord Melchett, and the Education Secretary would now proceed to consider the recommendations in the light of the views expressed to him.
This consideration would be completed as soon as possible, but in view of the complex issues involved it might be some time before he could make a statement.
