Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A fully transistorized windscreen wiper pause mechanism called the Drizzle Switch has been introduced by Tecalemit. It is a sealed unit designed to operate the wipers with an infinitely variable pause time between cycles during light rain and muddy road conditions when normal wiper operation would cause rapid blade deterioration and place too heavy a load on the wiper motor.

The Drizzle Switch can be wired into any 6, 12 or 24V wiper circuit without any modification. Once installed it will override the on/off wiper switch when set to any pause time from 1.5sec. to 40sec. When switched to the "cancel" position the standard on/off switch will operate as normal.

This compact unit does not affect wiping speeds and will automatically stop the blades in the parking position. When a two-speed wiper motor is installed the Drizzle Switch can be connected to operate on the speed required.

Once the switch is set to the required pause time no further adjustment is required. The driver will be able to concentrate on the road with the reassurance that his windscreen will be cleared automatically, thus preventing smearing and road film build-up. In heavy rain, a quick turn of the control switch will revert the wipers to constant action without stopping.

The switch is being marketed by the Filter Division of Tecalemit (Engineering) Ltd., and will be available through the distributive trades.
