A CRASH CAMPAIGN is being planned for West Germany next year by European Unit Routes Ltd., the P and 0 Group container company. EUR believes there is enormous potential for German shippers and forwarding agents to use its daily Continental container services into Tilbury.
A week-long seminar was held early this month for senior members of Reedereikontor Guenther Preuss, EUR's agents in Germany, in preparation for the intensified marketing cam
paign in that country. The seminar explained all aspects of the EUR container operation and future plans, ending with visits to the EUR terminals at Tilbury and Continental ports EUR engages in terminal-to-terminal operations only, and feels that with its German agents, it must offer shippers and manufacturers full technical and commercial advice on container operation in order to increase forwardings to this country.
European Unit Routes Ltd. at present oper ates two regular all-container services between the UK and the Continent. They are Tilbury: Rotterdam (daily) and Tilbury/Dunkirk (thrice weekly). Containers are carried terminal to terminal for £25 (20ft unit), £31 (3Oft unit) and £35 (40ft unit) subject to turnover rebates
