• Lord Beeching who on January 1 will become president of the Royal Society for the prevention of accidents, has accepted an invitation to make the 1969 presentation of the Don Safety Trophy on April 14. The trophy is the British motor industry's own award for safety design and it is presented to the motor manufacturer, car or commercial, whose vehicle in the opinion of an independent panel, has made the greatest contribution to road safety in the year under consideration.
