Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A new step to increase still further the efficiency of the Ford dealers' repair-shop methods has just been announced, the Ford concern having completed arrangements for the installation throughout the country of laboratory test sets. The test set combines, in a unit, a group of devices for tracing most of the troubles to which a modern chassis is subject.

The company also announces the inauguration of a series of classes to be held at the Ford works, at Dagenham, for the instruction of dealers staffs in the use of the new apparatus, thie training being necessary owing to the special nature of certain of the devices incorporated in the test sets.

Another scheme recently launched by the company is the selection of skilled workers from the big staff atpagenham to visit dealers and instruct their mechanics in the use of modern garage tools and machinery, as applied to the maintenance and repair of Ford vehicles. The workers selected for this duty receive special training, and are then placed in charge of one of the mechanical instruction vans which visit dealers throughout the country.

Progress of Victor Cub Oil Engine.

Victor Oil Engines (Coventry), Ltd., Cox Street, Coventry, recently shipped a consignment of Victor Cub oil engines to America for exhibition at the New York Show. The company's power units are now manufactured under licence in France and Switzerland and will, we learn, shortly be built under licence in the U.S.A. The company has a number of orders in hand from many countries overseas.

Containers Assist in Italo.Abyssinian War.

Lecording to Le Puids Lourd, containers are playing a large part in the transport of meat supplies to the Italian troops in Eritrea and Abyssinia.

Following a series of trials, the Italian Ministry of War recently gave out orders for a large number of refrigerator containers to carry 34 cwt. of meat. The gross weight of the containers, with cooling equipment and meat, does not exceed 3 tons, so that they may be handled by light cranes. At the same time, orders were placed fol. 80 low-loading trailers for shipment to Massowa, where they are being used for the conveyance of the loaded containers to the places where the troops are located. Contracts for a number of travelling ice-making plants are also reported to have been placed with a Swiss concern.

Latvia Lowers Tariffs.

A series of modifications in the Latvian import duties has been made, lorries being amongst the goods in respect of which considerable reductions are to be effected.

White Mice and Bees—a Haulier's Load!

A Barna. (Leicestershire) haulier's varied business was revealed before Mr. J. H. Stirk, East Midland Licensing Authority, when he applied for the renewal of his licence. Among the goods which he transported were small livestock."

Mr. Stick : " Not too small, I hope."

The applicant : "White mice and bees." He also conveyed consignments of out-of-date banknotes for banks.

Mr. Stirk : "I have heard of a few things being carried, but white mice and disused banknotes—up to now I think you take the medal!"
