Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

We learn from Teealernit, Ltd., Brentford, that the Vigor Co., and the Continental Tyre and Rubber Co., both French concerns, are now producing, under licence, tyres with treads in which Pneugrippa-pattern slots are moulded.

Readers will remember that the Tecalemit company introduced the Pneugrippa system, in which transverse parallel grooves are machine cut around the periphery of a tyre, and the fact that this tread is now incorporated in the products of the tyre makers named is a convincing evidence of the success of the original process.

The moulded tread is claimed to give a non-skid performance for 6,000 miles, after which a new tread can be cut by the ordinary Pneugrippa process which would give the worn-down tyre another long lease of serviceable life.

Severn Bridge Project Authorized.

Both Monmouth and Gloucester County Councils have passed formal resolutions authorizing a Bill immediately to be promoted to obtain power to erect a bridge over the River Severn at English Stones.

Dissentients at Monmouth County Council's meeting protested against the proposal to charge tolls for 20 years. They contended that road users were already oppressively taxed, and that the Government should make a grant of 100 per cent., and not 75 per cent., for this national project.
