The Commercial Vehicle Committee of the German Union of Motor Mantifacturrs has, as has already been briefly recorded, 'decided to organize an international display of commercial motor vehicles in connection with the annual Pair at Leipzig, from March 4th to 14th. The display is to include lorries and vans, lire-engines, streetclean* vehicles, motorbuses and coaches, and certain special machines. Inten iug British exhibitors can obtain full p rtnailas of the exhibition from the It ichs-Verband der Automobil Industri , 12-13, Unter den Linden, Berlin Cross-border Traffic in Ireland.

Don gal County Council has refused to pa s a resolution calling upon the Irish Free State Government to put into effect legislation prohibiting buses owned by Northern Ireland residents from entering Co. Donegal. The resolution was the outcome of a series of meetings held by railway employees and jaunting-car drivers protesting against the giJowtli of bus traffic. As there is considerable cross-border traffic between the cchinties of Donegal and Londonderry I it was hoped that 'legislation might curtail some of it.

n Aid. to Engine Starting.

We fare informed by C. G. Yokes and Co., 95 and 97, Lower Richmond Road, London, S.W.17, that the company has recently taken over from, the patentee, Mr. W. M. Harrison, the sole British rights and patents for many foreign counties for the Instarter.

This is a device to facilitate engine starting, particularly in cold weather. It emisists of a fibre flange for insertion between the induction pipe or carburetter and the cylinder casting. Carried by this flange is a thin copper tube bent into loops. Running through the tube is an insulated wire which forms an electrical heating element, controlled by a iwitch on the dash and obtaining its ciirrent from the vehicle battery. The dhviee warms the casting, or inlet pipe, and heats the ingoing mixture, also preventing recondeusation of the fuel.
