Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Investments failing to filter through to construction sector

WHILE EXISTING PUBLIC sector construction work may appear to be the most secure form of contract for construction companies, the government’s substantial investments in public building projects are not iltering through to the haulage market, reports the latest Construction Trade Survey.

Francis Noble, economics director at the Construction Products Association, says the government pledged “£3bn from 2010/11 to stimulate work in construction, and the Budget in April 2009 [promised to assist] the Building Colleges for the Future programme, in addition to £600m for housing.

“Unfortunately, any beneits from the proposals have yet to ind their way into signiicant additional work for the industry.”
