Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Fiat, Goostrey, Iveco, Leyland Daf

Iwas amused to read the honesty of the Iveco Ford advert for its four-cylinderengined Cargo, saying "No one will touch it". From the additional information given, it appears that drivers have had to make frequent use of the five-speed gearbox to keep it moving, resulting in it and other units having to be re-designed to cope with the stress.

I have always found that six-cylinder engines are smoother, give greater durability and reliability plus very often a better fuel consumption and in one case— the Leyland Daf FA45—give an equal payload with excellent economy. The Iveco advert tends to lend credence to my findings.

Robin Hannay, Goostrey. Crewe.
