• A survey by Business Freight Management, a Financial Times newsletter, revealed surprising optimism among 50 haulage operators.
The results show that 62% of companies expect increases in both export and domestic business next year, with 52% of companies predicting increases in imports.
TDG Transport director Duncan Martin summed up many hauliers' reactions: "We certainly don't see things that way at the moment."
