for these historic pictures. Jordans' managing director William Jordan is proud of his fleet and says the firm has always used Ford, Cornmer and since 1935 ERF.
"We have found ERF to be the best heavy vehicle and currently operate 38-twine, Gardner-powered ERFs fitted with David Brown gear boxes and Kirkstall axles. One unit has covered 860,000 miles (nearly 1.4 million km). We are always trying other vehicles including foreign ones but have not found them as economical as the ERFs."
