Government £200 million, according to some reports in the national press. This would be more than twice the 280 million estimated price tag which was originally suggested when the sale of NBC was first mooted.
NBC will not reveal how much it has received for the sale of any of its operating subsidiaries, although there have been suggestions that some of the earlier sales were at reduced prices to stimulate interest.
Some 43 operating subsidiaries have been privatised so far and National Express is expected to be sold off soon for about 210 million.
