to go to Crown Court
• Salford Magistrates have adjourned a case arising from the alleged falsification of tachograph records by Salfordbased Student Products company director Stewart Miller and three drivers while the defence decides whether to ask for a Crown Court trial.
The company is accused of 15 offences of causing the drivers to make false entries in tachograph charts. Driver John Davies of Salford faces four charges of making false entries: Anthony Orange of Altrincham, is accused of eight similar offences, and Stephan Flower of Timperley is accused of three tachograph offences. Miller, of Hale, is accused of aiding and abetting the drivers. Jonathon Davies, defending, said that though it had originally been indicated that the case was suitable for the magistrates to deal with, evidence had emerged that required advice to be taken as to whether it should go to the Crown Court.
The Magistrates adjourned the Student Products hearing until 22 September.
